Winners were announced last night at closing events at SheilaLynnK Art Studio in Wellsville.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned since my spinal cord injury is that survival is all about adaptability and adaptability is about balance and adjusting the SIZE of our expectations.
This Event was just the right size to reasonably accommodate this phase of my recovery. More importantly, I was fortunate enough to meet members of our community with a genuine affection for the arts who displayed a generous sense of spirit during this new adventure.
I am encouraged by the enthusiasm shown by visitors and participants alike.
We are all looking forward to using this experience to inform SWAN Day Allegany County, NY 2017 which will include an expanded Calendar of creative events hosted by local Women Artists during the Months of March and April 2017.
Submissions to be listed on that 2017 Calendar can be made via the studio contact information.
Deadline for inclusion is Feb 5, 2017. Listing is FREE. Donations are welcome.
Our county has so much to offer in the area of Natural Assets, The Arts, and the ways in which both contribute to Sustainable Independent Creative Wellness.
Open to Women Artists working in ALL genres of the Written, Visual and Performing Art; This event will grow as my contribution to the local "Destination Wellsville/Allegany County" initiative in direct proportion to the participation and support received.
SWAN Day is an International Event to Support Women In the Arts.
Allegany County, NY is now included on their international calendar of Art Events and as a Featured Event on the WomenArts Blog in Berkeley, CA distributed to an international audience.
